In short: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no photos, no microphone, no camera, no location. What a parent types only travels to their own TV and is gone within hours.
Who uses the app
TellyPal is used by a parent or carer. The grown-up uses their phone to type what Robo says on the TV. The child only watches and listens. Children do not type, sign up or send anything.
What we handle and why
- Messages you type for Robo to say. We pass them to your TV so Robo can say them.
- Your child's first name, only if you add it, so Robo can say it.
- Hero choices (colours and costume parts), so the TV can dress Robo up.
- The TV code, which links your phone to your TV.
Our server keeps these in memory only: the last 30 messages for each TV, so you can tap "Again" or reuse them. They are never written to disk. They are deleted when the TV and phones have been unused for 6 hours, and whenever the server restarts. We do not sell, share or analyse them, and we never use them for advertising.
What stays on your devices
Your phone's browser remembers your TV code, your child's name, the voice you chose and your saved heroes, so you don't have to set them up again. The TV remembers its code, its hero, the child's first name (if you typed one), where Robo got to in his lessons, the stars earned and today's learning time. The TV only shares what it is teaching, the stars and the learning time with phones connected to it, so you can see them on the Lessons card. You can clear these at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser, or the app's data on the TV.
Speech
Robo's voice is made by the text-to-speech engine already on your TV (or on your computer, in a browser). That engine is provided by your device maker or by Google, under their own privacy terms.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting may record technical details such as IP addresses and times of visits, for security and to fix problems. These are kept for [number] days. [Confirm with the hosting set-up.]
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only detail about a child is a first name that a parent may choose to type, which is handled as described above. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no links to other apps or websites in the TV app.
Delete your data
TellyPal has no accounts. To delete what TellyPal keeps about your TV, write to desitech.reviews2026@gmail.com with the subject "TellyPal: delete my data" and the 6-digit TV code shown on your TV. We delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm.
- Deleted: your TV's free-trial record (its device ID and the days it was used), its hero and any lesson status we hold.
- Already deleted by itself: messages and your child's first name are only kept in memory, for at most 6 hours.
- Kept: if your TV has a TellyPal Unlimited subscription, Google Play keeps the purchase record (cancel it in Google Play). We keep nothing else.
- On your own devices: clear the site's data in your phone's browser, and the TellyPal app's data on the TV (TV Settings → Apps → TellyPal → Clear data).
Your choices
You can leave the child's name empty, stop using the app at any time, or ask us to delete anything we hold by writing to desitech.reviews2026@gmail.com (see Delete your data). Because messages are deleted within hours, there is usually nothing left to delete.
